THE TWO-DAY WORKSHOP ACCOMPLISHED ITS MISSION:

SEVERAL PRINCIPLES OF THE ARIZONA CENTENNIAL EMERGED DURING THE MAY WORKSHOP:

  • The Arizona Centennial looks "Beyond the 5 C's" to all of the rich history that tells our story.
  • The Arizona Centennial is more than 1912; it is about who we were before statehood, the commemoration of statehood, how we have developed since statehood, and where we are going in the next 100 years.
  • The Arizona Centennial incorporates legacy features, from curriculum development to new research to establishing heritage areas, into the programmatic construction.
  • The Arizona Centennial reaches all citizens of the state. Arizonans "Meet Arizona History Wherever They Are."
  • The Arizona Centennial is Inclusive of all citizens of the state. It is an important moment in time when everyone celebrates being Arizonans; when all citizens call Arizona their "home."
