Arizona Statehood Day 2005
Governor signs SB1065
On February 14, 2004, Arizona Statehood Day, Governor Janet Napolitano signed Senate Bill 1065, which created a plan for Arizona's centennial. Honorable Senator Jay Tibshraeny was the sponsor of the bill. The Arizona Historic Advisory Commission (AHAC) is charged with developing and coordinating a statewide plan for the 2012 Centennial. GladysAnn Wells, as Director of ASLAPR, is charged with the responsibility of developing AHAC by-laws, membership, subcommittees, etc.
The vision of the Arizona Legislature, Governor Napolitano and leadership from Arizona's cultural institutions is to ensure a meaningful centennial experience for all Arizona citizens.
